Crayons (military slang)

In U.S. military slang, especially online, 'crayons' or 'crayon-eater' refers to the joke that Marines are so simple or tough they would eat crayons. It’s a light-hearted, self-deprecating meme (and insult from other branches) about Marine intelligence, not a literal practice. The meme became widespread in the 2010s.
