Hammer

A heavy metal component that pivots on an axis. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer is released from spring tension and swings forward to strike either the firing pin or directly onto the primer of the cartridge. Hammers can be exposed (allowing manual cocking) or shrouded/bobbed for concealed carry.
