Prism (Optics)

Also known as: Erecting Prism. A transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. In compact optics like prismatic sights or binoculars, prisms are used to fold the optical path and erect the inverted image, resulting in a shorter overall length and correct orientation.
