Thermal Crossover

Also known as: Crossover Point. A phenomenon that occurs when ambient temperatures cause objects and their backgrounds to have similar thermal signatures, making it difficult for thermal imagers to distinguish between them. This can significantly reduce the effectiveness of thermal optics during certain times of day.
